Aurora, a young girl who was born with a rare genetic syndrome called Nager, underwent a groundbreaking surgery in
Catania, Italy. The syndrome caused her mandible to fuse to her skull, preventing her from speaking or eating solid foods. The surgery, which lasted for ten hours, was a collaborative effort involving multiple teams of surgeons and anesthetists.
