Gaetano Rampello, a 59ially sentenced him to 21 years in prison but later released him on house arrest. The court ruled that Rampello acted in the heat of the moment and not with premeditation. The murder took place in February when the son demanded money from his father, who he had been physically abusing for years. The trial is now in the appeal phase, with closing arguments scheduled for November 16. In addition to Rampello, the son’s mother and uncle are also under investigation for false testimony.
