Yuliya Donnichenko, a 46ion to the request for dismissal made by the prosecutor for two cases opened for the crime of kidnapping against two foster couples. The opposition has been filed by Donnichenko’s lawyer, Giuseppe Lipera, who had previously reported the two couples. In the opposition, Lipera points out that the guardian had the right to take care of the minors and that the foster couples had taken every possible action to avoid complying with the court’s decision regarding Donnichenko’s role as the guardian and to prevent the children from being repatriated to Ukraine. Donnichenko is under investigation for aggravated private violence and threats committed against orphaned minors, abuse of power as a guardian, extortion, and attempted extortion. The investigation focuses on the forced repatriation, against the minors’ will, of children who were placed with Sicilian families.
