Arianna Mortelliti, the granddaughter of Italian writer Andrea Camilleri, recently visited the town of Scicli, where the popular TV series based on her grandfather’s novels was filmed. The visit was announced by the mayor, Mario Marino, who shared photos of the meeting on social media. Mortelliti, who is the daughter of filmmaker Rocco Mortelliti and Camilleri’s eldest daughter Andreina, was welcomed by the mayor and councilor Enzo Giannone. This was her first time visiting the set where the stories created by her grandfather came to life. She had been Camilleri’s most faithful collaborator in his final years, helping him write despite his blindness. Mortelliti, who is 36 years old and teaches at a school in Rome, recently published her first book titled “Quella volta che mia moglie ha cucinato i peperoni” (The Time My Wife Cooked Peppers).
