Ventis migrants are still stranded on the cliffs of Cala Ponente in Lampedusa after their boat crashed on Friday night. Strong winds and rough seas have prevented the coast guard boats from approaching the cove to rescue them. The strong winds, reaching up to 30 knots, have also made it impossible for a helicopter to airlift them to safety. The coast guard boats have been monitoring the group of adult migrants and providing them with food, water bottles, and thermal blankets. The rescue operations are expected to be completed today, unless the weather conditions worsen.
