Confermate tre condanne a San Giuseppe Jato, capo del clan ottiene sconto di pena.

Calogero Alamia, alleged head of the mafia family in San Giuseppe Jato, has had his sentence reduced from 12 to 8 years of imprisonment. The decision was made by the judges of the second section of the Court of Appeal. This comes from his involvement in the “Jato Bet” raid in October 2021. The court partially accepted the arguments put forth by Alamia’s lawyers, Vincenzo Giambruno and Jimmy D’Azzò. However, three other convictions from the first trial were upheld, including 8 years for Maurizio Licari, 6 years and 8 months for Nicusor Tinjala, and 3 and a half years for Giovanni Nicola Simonetti. The investigation was led by Carabinieri and coordinated by prosecutors Federica La Chioma and Dario Scaletta. The case was also supported by the Deputy Prosecutor General Emanuele Ravaglioli. The Jato Bet blitz resulted in 9 arrests and dismantled the San Giuseppe Jato clan. An exh Giuseppe Antonio Bommarito.
