Attraverso la via che da Trapani(TP)(TP), passando per Paceco(TP)(TP) conduce a Marsala (TP) (TP) fiancheggiando la laguna dello Stagnone che accoglie L’isola di L’isola di Mozia(TP)(TP), si possono vedere montagne dal candore splendente che luccicano sotto il sole.
Non si tratta di rocce innevate ma delle saline, una delle fonti storiche dell’economia siciliana preziosissima già al tempo dei Fenici a cui si devono le prime tecnologie di realizzazione. Le congiunture climatiche favorevoli quali acque basse, temperatura elevata e vento che favorisce l’evaporazione, favoriscono a creare il paesaggio suggestivo e surreale dalle saline, formando un’immensa scacchiera dalle colorazioni che dal verdastro tendono al rosa.
I percorsi turistici per visitare le saline si snodano lungo gli argini dei bacini e, percorrendo le sponde delle vasche luccicanti per la cristallizzazione del sale, raggiungono gli isolotti su cui troneggiano mulini a vento restaurati, memoria del tempo in cui erano gli strumenti principali per pompare acqua e macinare il sale.
Uno scenario tutto da godere, preferibilmente al levar del sole, quando tutto si tinge di rosso.
