Antonino Burrafato, a police marshal killed by the mafia in 1982, is being remembered by the Parliament of Legality, which organized an initiative in schools in the province of Palermo. Students discussed Burrafato’s personal and professional life and were tasked with expressing their reflections. Some drew portraits, composed poems, or, like young student Ester, wrote an analysis. Salvatore Burrafato, the president of the Gesap board, expressed his gratitude for the students’ works and their sensitivity and intelligence, offering hope for defeating the mafia. He feels proud to be Burrafato’s son and sees his father’s memory as a reminder of love and understanding.
