Consapevolezza su endometriosi alla veleggiata Catania-Siracusa

Endo Wave, a sailing event organized by the Association Progetto Endometriosi (A.P.E.), has set off from the Port of Catania to raise awareness about endometriosis, a condition that affects 10% of women of childbearing age. The event, supported by numerous gynecologists specialized in the disease, will conclude in the Port of Syracuse. Tomorrow, a conference will be held in Syracuse to further discuss endometriosis and research, featuring actress Guenda Goria as a guest speaker. A.P.E. President Annalisa Frassineti emphasized the importance of informing women about the condition to reduce diagnostic delay and ensure that those affected feel understood and supported. The sailing event was attended by highime Directorate for Eastern Sicily, who expressed their support for the cause. Endometriosis volunteer Chiara Catalano highlighted the progress made in Sicily thanks to regional legislation that established diagnostic centers specializing in the disease. The conference in Syracuse will focus on prevention and research, with various medical specialists to provide a multidisciplinary approach to endometriosis treatment. The event was organized in collaboration with the Italian Naval League, which contributed confiscated vessels for the sailing event. The article concludes by stating that endometriosis is a chronic inflammatory disease with an incidence comparable to diabetes. Lack of knowledge about the condition is the main reason for diagnostic delay, which averages around eight years, resulting in extensive medical procedures and expenses for affected women.
