In Sicily, during control operations carried out by the Carabinieri in two wineries in the province of
Catania, 700 liters of white wine stored in unidentified vats and lacking traceability were seized. In addition, 10 kilograms of technological adjuvant (oak chips) used improperly in enological practices on PDO wines were discovered. Three unregistered vats were also found. In another agriers of wine product contained in an unregistered vat and 38 kilograms of sugary substance used improperly in enological practices in the vinification laboratory were seized. The total value of what was seized amounts to approximately 90,000 euros.
