Paolo Bellini, a former member of the far-right group Avanguardia Nazionale, is being investigated by the Caltanissetta Prosecutor’s Office for the Capaci massacre. He has already been questioned by magistrates in Caltanissetta and Florence for the attacks in 1993. Bellini has denied any involvement. The investigation aims to clarify the reason for Bellini’s presence in Sicily before the Capaci massacre. He had met Nino Gioè, a boss involved in the Capaci massacre, while in prison in 1988. The investigation also involves alleged negotiations for the recovery of stolen artworks involving Bellini.
