Ypsigrock: Egle Plytnikaite creates artwork for 27th edition.

Ypsigrock, the first boutique festival in Italy, will take place from August 8th to 11th, 2024. After a soldh 12,000 attendees, the festival is entering a new chapter with the presentation of its artwork for the 27th edition. The artwork, created by Lithuanian illustrator Egle Plytnikaite, is inspired by the concept of an island. It symbolizes Ypsigrock’s essence as a happy island in the heart of Sicily, where people come together to celebrate music, art, and culture. Plytnikaite collaborated with Marcella Campo, the festival’s creative director, to develop the island theme based on the uniqueness and shared experiences of the festival community. Ypsigrock aims to create a refuge of sharing where music becomes a universal language that connects hearts and lives. The festival represents modern navigators, exploring human relationships. The illustration draws inspiration from the sea, ancient island legends, and traditional Sicilian ceramics. It aims to capture the sensual and magical atmosphere of Ypsigrock and invites the audience to immerse themselves in the experience. The 27th edition of Ypsigrock Festival will take place from August 8th to 11th, 2024, in Castelbuono, among the enchanting mountains of Madonie. The festival’s artistic director is already working on the lineup, which will bring exclusivity, debut performances, and unique shows to the stage. The festival follows the rule of “Ypsi Once,” meaning that artists can only perform once under the same name at the festival. Egle Plytnikaite is a freelance illustrator based in Vilnius, Lithuania. Her minimal, colorful, and conceptual artworks often incorporate subtle textures that give them a vintage warmth while maintaining a contemporary aesthetic. Plytnikaite works on various social, editorial, and commercial projects for clients such as The New York Times, The Wall Street Journal, The Guardian, Die Zeit, Harper’s Bazaar, and Bank of America, among others. Her goal is to create artworks that capture attention and challenge our perception of the world.
