Enrico Mariani, a mechanic from Scordia, Italy, tragically lost his life in a motorcycle accident. He was test-riding a Honda 600 when he crashed into a Ford Transit van and was thrown off his bike, falling about seven meters underneath a bridge. After investigation, the police determined that the accident occurred along the provincial road 28, in front of a heavy vehicle car wash. Mariani had just finished working on the motorcycle when the unforeseen collision took place. The news has shocked and saddened the Scordia community, as Mariani was well-known for his work. Messages of condolences have poured in from all over, expressing grief for the loss of a young, hardworking father. The community of Militello in Val di Catania, which Mariani was originally from, has also joined in mourning his untimely death. Another incident occurred in Scordia on the same day, involving a carabinieri vehicle and a Fiat Panda driven by an elderly person. One of the soldiers was taken to the hospital, but their condition is not serious.
