The 5th challenge test of the Italian Billiards Championship - "5 pin" specialty, held in these days in Ragusa, ended with great acclaim. Three junior athletes who live and train in Ragusa will represent Italy at the Junior European Championship in the "Carambola a 3 sponde" specialty; they are Paolo Turlà (2006), registered in the ASD La Biglia Modica, who will compete in the U21 category, Giuliano Di Gabriele (2002), registered in the ASD Circolo Cultura Arte e Sport S. Croce Camerina, also engaged in the Category U 21 and Mirko Russino (2005), member of the ASD Circolo Cultura Arte e Sport S. Croce Camerina, engaged in the U17. Great enthusiasm and satisfaction from all the local billiards environment for this important call-up to the Italian national team. It will be an important commitment for the boys trained by the federal instructor Roberto Turlà, under the supervision of the national manager of the Junior Sector of the FIBi.S. (Italian Federation of Sports Billiards) Liberato Picciano, collaborated by the National Manager Sect. Carambola and CEB Sports Director (European Billiards Confederation) Stefano Malacrita. Billiards is having a great diffusion among young people, and not only, thanks also to a series of activities implemented in recent years such as school projects, in Ragusa at the Liceo Scientifico E. Fermi the Billiards & School, and the regional junior meetings strongly desired by the regional president FIBi.S. Angelo Contrafatto. For the Iblei boys, who in the last 60 days have had to intensify their training in anticipation of the important competitive commitment, this is the first international experience and they will have to face European athletes who are certainly more experienced and already with a respectable record. Nonetheless, there is great enthusiasm and positive energy in anticipation of the upcoming competitive competitions. Turlà and Di Gabriele will also be involved together with Luigi De Girolamo and Emanuele Cucchiara in the Biathlon specialty (combined "3 sponde" + "5 skittles"). The race will be held in Desio from 7 to 10 April and the meetings can be followed live on the www.kozoom.com platform. Information relating to the championship on the FIBi.S. www.fibis.it. "I would like to wish a big good luck to the Iblei boys - declared Maria Monisteri, Coni delegate - ready for an experience that will certainly give them great emotions and, we hope, Italian successes".
