Maria Scrima, 83 years old, and her son Roberto Brambille, 57, have been sentenced to three years in prison without mitigating circumstances for stalking a public official in Palermo and his family. During the trial, a series of harassments and humiliations that the victims, a married couple and their two children, were forced to endure emerged. The harassment began when the victims started renovation works in their home in Palermo. The neighbors accused them of carrying out illegal activities and of having connections with criminals. The victims filed a complaint for defamation and slander.
